Upcoming Volunteer 事件

Saturday July 20th | 9:00am-10:00am

Join the 卡森城公园, 娱乐 and 开放空间 Department for a volunteer opportunity at Blackwell's Pond! We will be focusing on the trash that collects in the pond area, as well as have an opportunity to pull the invasive bull thistles that are growing there. Tools will be provided. Long pants, long sleeve shirts, and hats are recommended for sun and brush protection. We will have some boots and waders for trash that is in the water, however bringing your own waterproof boots is recommended as supplies are limited. Registration is strongly recommended, so that we may bring enough supplies and staff.

公园大使 Program

卡森城公园, 娱乐 and 开放空间 Department is looking for volunteers to assist with the day-to-day operations at our parks. We are looking for volunteers who can ideally spend a minimum of 1 hour each week at the assigned park of their choosing. To see a complete list of parks, see below! Volunteers can assist with a wider variety of tasks, depending on their skill level. Some tasks may include (but not limited to):

Picking up trash
除草
Picking up dog waste
报告 vandalism and broken infrastructure
Other tasks dependent on your skillset!

Adopt-A-Trail Program

The Adopt-A-Trail program is an environmental stewardship initiative and a chance for businesses, 俱乐部, 家庭, 学校, and other citizen groups to give back to 卡森城 community by helping with care and maintenance of a trail. It aims to build civic pride and involve community members in positive outdoor recreation. Groups who adopt a trail commit to a minimum of 2 volunteer events on their trail per year, with activities based on their trail's specific needs. As a thank you to those who adopt our trails, we put a sign at the trailhead indicating that the trail has been adopted by your group!
